5 common reasons your dream book stays unpublished

Every writer has a dream of getting published. While platforms like WordPress, Blogger, and more have made it easier for people to get their words out, novels and audiobooks still stay a dream for many.

Here are eight common reasons why this dream stays just a dream, along with ways to overcome it. So, hopefully, you'll get that dream book published.

  1. You don't have time:

Managing a full-time job or school, family obligations, and more can leave you with no time for you to think about writing down the story in your heart. That seems to be a common problem for most people, but if you never start, you'll never finish. So, jot down what's on your head on your phone or diary. It could be just a few lines a day, while you're traveling or before you go to bed. As you start writing and build this habit, it's much easier for you to stick to it and finally finish your book.

  1. You don't know how to take it forward:

This issue occurs for most writers once they start their book. After a few chapters, you don't know how to proceed. The best thing you can do when you encounter such a situation would be to look for inspiration. Read books, watch movies, ask your friends, talk about it. Soon you'll find your direction and get back on track. Or you could write a series of short stories instead. That way you can get your short story book out, which might bolster your motivation to write a novel.

  1. Writer's block:

This is the horror every writer dreads. That heartwrenching feeling when everything you write seems like utter crap. So, you stare at the blank page, not knowing what to do. The best way to defeat this monster called 'writer's block' is to write. You can take a tiny break, go for a walk, observe your surroundings, watch movies, drink water, and more, but eventually, you gotta get back to writing. If you're still blank after your break, don't hesitate and write crap. Write lots of crap until you get something worth going on in your book. Or you can always edit the crap you wrote and make it better.

  1. You forget about it:

Life can be unpredictable, and as you get pulled into different things, your book can stay forgotten. And, even if you discover your half-written book, it is possible to have lost your trail of thoughts. The best thing you can do is re-read your book over and over again, look for inspiration and, continue it.

  1. You know nothing about publishing:

Not knowing how to publish is a huge problem for all creative minds. You know how to write things, but the world of publishing is new and scary. Adding on, publishing your book can be very expensive. To meet the demands of aspiring writers, VGo Global's upcoming startup allows writers to publish their short stories or long stories in the form of novels, series, or audio. The writers can publish their stories both, with or without the cover page. VGo Global then pays the writers based on the viewership or engagement of their work.
